Cheesy Baked Potato Casserole with Beef Sausages

Ingredients:

  • 1 chicken breast, boiled and shredded
  • Beef sausages (quantity as desired)
  • 1/4 kg potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 box of liquid milk (200 ml)
  • 1-2 carrots, diced
  • 50 grams grated cheddar cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 25 grams margarine for sautéing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Aromatics: Finely chop the garlic, then combine with salt and pepper. In a skillet, melt the margarine over medium heat and sauté the garlic mixture until fragrant.

  2. Cook the Vegetables: Add the diced carrots to the skillet and continue to sauté until they are tender.

  3. Make the Sauce: Pour in the liquid milk and stir well. Add the grated cheddar cheese and shredded chicken, cooking over medium heat until the mixture begins to simmer.

  4. Incorporate the Potatoes: Gently fold in the mashed potatoes, stirring until the mixture thickens. To ensure a smooth consistency, add 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and mix until the sauce is thickened and fully cooked.

  5. Assemble the Dish: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish or aluminum foil pan with margarine. Spread the potato mixture evenly in the dish.

  6. Add the Sausages: Slice the beef sausages and arrange them on top of the potato mixture.

  7. Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and slightly crisp.
