Chinese Style Stuffed Green Bell Peppers Recipe 🌶️

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
1 Onion
4-6 Fresh mushrooms
1 Egg
6-8 Green peppers
4 Lean ground beef
1 Teaspoon of sugar
1 Teaspoon of salt
1/2 Teaspoon of cornflour
1/2 Teaspoon of sherry wine
1 Teaspoon of thin soy sauce
1 Pinch of pepper
1 Cup of water
1/2 Teaspoon of cornflour
1 Teaspoon of sugar
1 Teaspoon of thin soy sauce

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Begin by dicing the onion and mushrooms, and then beat the egg in a small bowl.

  2. Marinate Ground Beef: In a mixing bowl, place the lean ground beef and add the sherry wine, salt, pepper, sugar, thin soy sauce, cornflour, and a touch of oil. Allow the beef to marinate for about 5 minutes.

  3. Mix Well: Ensure the marinade is evenly distributed by mixing the ingredients thoroughly.

  4. Incorporate Onion, Mushrooms, and Egg: Add the diced onions, mushrooms, and beaten egg to the marinated beef mixture. Mix everything well to combine all the flavors.

  5. Prepare Bell Peppers: Cut the green peppers lengthwise in halves, remove the core and seeds, and wash them properly.

  6. Stuff Peppers: Stuff each half of the bell peppers firmly with the prepared meat mixture, ensuring they are evenly filled.

  7. Cook Stuffed Peppers: Heat a little oil in a wok or frying pan, then place the stuffed peppers in the pan with the meat side down. Sprinkle a little salt over the peppers, cover the pan, and cook for about 5-8 minutes over medium heat.

  8. Flip and Continue Cooking: After 5-8 minutes, flip the peppers over to the green side and continue cooking for another 5 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.

  9. Set Aside: Once cooked, remove the stuffed peppers from the pan and set them aside on a warm serving dish.

  10. Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, combine water, cornflour, thin soy sauce, and sugar to make the sauce. Pour this mixture into the pan used to cook the peppers.

  11. Thicken Sauce: Stir the sauce continuously over medium heat until it thickens and becomes bubbly.

  12. Serve: Pour the thickened sauce over the stuffed peppers and serve them hot over a bed of rice.
