Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 ounces cooked chicken, diced
  • 2 cups green beans, trimmed and cooked

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce:
    In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 6 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, whisk in 6 tablespoons of flour to form a roux. Add 1/2 cup of milk and continue to stir until the mixture starts to thicken.

    Stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, depending on your taste preference. Season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Cook for an additional minute, allowing the flavors to meld.

  3. Add Cheese:
    Reduce the heat to low and stir in 1/3 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Continue to stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

  4. Combine Ingredients:
    Gently fold in 8 ounces of diced cooked chicken and 2 cups of cooked green beans. Toss everything together until well coated with the creamy sauce.

  5. Bake the Casserole:
    Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/3 cup of Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is bubbling.

  6. Serve:
