Ingredients:
- 2 packets gelatin
- 1 3/4 cups boiling water
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 9 tablespoons fat-free evaporated milk
- 15 drops red food coloring
- 15 drops blue food coloring
- 15 drops green food coloring
Instructions:
- Before each use, wash the brain mold with warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge to ensure cleanliness.
- Spray or smear the inside of the mold with a small amount of vegetable oil, then wipe out the excess to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, combine the gelatin mix with the boiling water. Stir for approximately two minutes or until the mix is completely dissolved.
- Add the cold water to the gelatin mixture and stir until well combined.
- Stir in the fat-free evaporated milk until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Add drops of red, blue, and green food coloring until the desired pinkish-gray hue is achieved. Stir well to evenly distribute the coloring.
- Pour the gelatin mixture into the brain mold, leaving about 1/4 inch of space from the top to allow for expansion.
- Place the brain mold in a shallow bowl to ensure it sits level in the refrigerator.
- Refrigerate the brain gelatin overnight or for at least 4-6 hours until set.
- To remove the brain from the mold, gently shake the mold until the gelatin loosens.
- Place a flat plate upside down over the open side of the mold, then flip the mold and plate together.
- Carefully lift the mold off the plate, leaving the brain-shaped gelatin intact.
