Servings: 4
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Chicken breast 300g
Bacon 4 slices
Ripe tomatoes 1
Toma cheese 480g
Hamburger buns 4
All-purpose flour 200g
Water 330g
Light beer 50g
Lemon zest 1
Salt 10g
Marjoram To taste
Thyme To taste
White pepper To taste
Semolina flour As needed
Breadcrumbs 500g
Sunflower seed oil As needed
Egg yolk 1
White wine vinegar 10g
Mustard 5g

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and lemon zest. Add salt, marjoram, thyme, and white pepper. Slowly pour in the water and light beer, stirring continuously to form a smooth batter. Set aside.

  2. Prepare the Chicken:
Take the chicken breast and slice it lengthwise into two even pieces, each about 1 cm thick. Cut each piece into smaller square portions. Dredge each piece of chicken in semolina flour to ensure it’s fully coated, then dip it into the prepared batter, allowing any excess to drip off. Transfer the battered chicken into a dish of breadcrumbs and coat it thoroughly on all sides.

  3. Rest the Chicken:
Once all the chicken pieces are battered and breaded, set them aside to rest while you prepare the other ingredients.

  4. Make the Mayonnaise:
In a large bowl, combine the egg yolk and white wine vinegar. Using an electric whisk, start beating the mixture while slowly drizzling in sunflower oil to form a stable emulsion. Once the mayonnaise has thickened, season with salt and briefly mix again. Set aside.

  5. Prepare the Tomato and Bacon:
Slice the ripe tomato into 8 even slices. Preheat the oven to grill mode. Lay the bacon slices flat on a baking sheet and grill them for about 5 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.

  6. Heat the Oil for Frying:
In a deep frying pan, heat the sunflower oil to 170-180°C (340-350°F). While the oil is heating, place the hamburger buns on a baking sheet with the cut sides facing up. Once the chicken is ready to fry, place the buns in the oven and toast for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

  7. Fry the Chicken:
When the oil reaches the right temperature, carefully add the breaded chicken pieces. Fry them until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the oil using a slotted spoon and set it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

  8. Assemble the McChicken Saporito:
Take the toasted buns and place the bottom half on a plate. Layer with a piece of crispy fried chicken, followed by a slice of Toma cheese and a slice of grilled bacon. Add two slices of tomato on top and drizzle with the freshly made mayonnaise. Top with the other half of the bun.

  9. Serve:
Your McChicken Saporito is ready to be enjoyed! Serve it hot with a side of crispy fries or a refreshing salad.

Tips and Variations:

  • Flavor Boost: For an extra kick, add a dash of your favorite hot sauce to the mayonnaise.
  • Vegetarian Twist: Swap the chicken for a hearty vegetable patty or a crispy fried portobello mushroom for a satisfying vegetarian version.
  • Cheese Options: While Toma cheese adds a unique flavor, feel free to substitute with mozzarella or cheddar for a different taste.

This McChicken Saporito recipe offers a delicious twist on a classic chicken sandwich, with crispy fried chicken, creamy homemade mayonnaise, and layers of flavorful ingredients. Perfect for a hearty meal that will satisfy your cravings and impress your guests!
