Simple Fried Tempe Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tempe 1/2 block
All-purpose flour To taste
Green onion 1 stalk
Salt To taste
Water As needed
Cooking oil As needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tempe: Cut the tempe into your preferred shape and set aside. Thinly slice the green onion and keep it aside as well.

  2. Make the Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour with salt and the sliced green onion. Gradually add water, mixing until you achieve a smooth batter that isn’t too runny. Taste to adjust the seasoning.

  3. Coat the Tempe: Dip each piece of tempe into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated. Gently shake off any excess batter.

  4. Fry the Tempe: Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated tempe pieces and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.

  5. Drain and Serve: Remove the fried tempe from the oil and let it drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
