Nanaimo Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

| 5 tablespoons cocoa powder | 1/2 cup chopped nuts | |
| 2 cups graham wafer crumbs | 1/2 cup shredded coconut | 
Instructions:
- 
Layer One: Related Articles- In a double boiler, combine 1/2 cup butter, 1/4 cup sugar, one large egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 5 tablespoons cocoa powder.
- Stir the mixture until it thickens slightly.
- Add 2 cups of graham wafer crumbs, 1/2 cup shredded coconut, and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Mix well.
- Grease a 9″ square pan and press this first layer down evenly to form the base. Let it stand for 15 minutes.

Layer Two: - In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of custard powder with 1/2 cup of butter until smooth.
- Gradually add 2 cups of icing sugar and 1/4 cup of milk, mixing until well combined.
- Spread this creamy mixture over the first layer.
- Refrigerate for 15 minutes to set.

Layer Three: - Melt 4 ounces of semisweet chocolate over hot water.
- Slowly and gently stir in 1 tablespoon of butter until fully blended.
- Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the second layer.
- Return the pan to the refrigerator to chill.
 
- 
Serve: - Once chilled, cut the Nanaimo Bars into squares.
