Papeda Telur Isi Sosis: A Delicious and Savory Indonesian Delight

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 200 ml water
  • 3 tablespoons tapioca flour
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Flavor enhancer, to taste
  • Cooking oil
  • 3 chicken sausages
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Margarine, for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sausages:

    • Begin by slicing the chicken sausages into pieces of your preferred size. Score the sausages to allow the flavors to penetrate better.
    • In a small bowl, combine minced garlic and ground coriander. Add the tomato sauce and sweet soy sauce to this mixture.
    • Coat the sausage pieces with the prepared sauce mixture and let them marinate for about 5 minutes.
    • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of margarine. Grill the sausages until they are fully cooked and have a nice golden-brown color.
  2. Prepare the Egg Mixture:

    • Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them thoroughly. Season with salt and ground black pepper.
    • In another bowl, mix the water with the all-purpose flour, tapioca flour, salt, and flavor enhancer until you achieve a smooth batter.
  3. Cook the Egg and Flour Mixture:

    • Heat a non-stick skillet over low heat and lightly grease it with margarine.
    • Pour approximately 2-3 tablespoons of the beaten egg mixture into the skillet. Tilt and swirl the skillet to evenly spread the egg mixture, aiming to cover the entire surface of the pan.
    • Allow the egg to cook until it starts to set but is still slightly wet on top.
  4. Add the Flour Mixture:

    • Gently pour about 2 tablespoons of the flour batter over the partially cooked egg. Swirl the skillet to evenly distribute the flour mixture.
    • Cook until the batter is set and the egg is cooked through.
  5. Assemble the Dish:

    • Place the grilled sausages along one edge of the egg and flour mixture.
    • Carefully roll the egg and sausage mixture from the edge where the sausages are placed, forming a tight roll.
  6. Serve:

    • Remove the rolled Papeda Telur Isi Sosis from the skillet and slice into desired portions.
    • Serve warm and enjoy this delightful Indonesian dish!

This recipe combines the savory flavors of chicken sausage with a rich, eggy wrap, creating a satisfying and flavorful meal that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner.
