Simple Spicy Beef Curry – Keto
Ingredients:
- 200 grams beef, cut into chunks
- 300 grams beef fat
- 1 packet of instant curry seasoning (brand ‘Bamboe’)
- 1 teaspoon Himalayan salt
- Fried shallots, to taste
- Sliced bird’s eye chilies, to taste
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Beef: Start by boiling the beef chunks in water until tender. Make sure not to discard the broth as it will be used later. Once tender, set the beef aside.
-
Prepare the Beef Fat: In a separate pot, boil the beef fat several times, discarding the water each time to remove any strong meat odor. After boiling, drain and rinse the beef fat thoroughly with clean water, then drain again.
-
Combine Ingredients: In the same pot used to boil the beef, add a sufficient amount of water, then return the beef fat to the pot. Add additional water if needed to cover both the beef and fat.
-
Season the Curry: Stir in the instant curry seasoning, chili powder, sliced bird’s eye chilies, and coconut milk. Add Himalayan salt to taste. Mix thoroughly and adjust the seasoning as needed. If the curry needs more salt, add it accordingly.
-
Cook the Curry: Simmer the mixture over low heat until it comes to a gentle boil. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors. Turn off the heat.
-
Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fried shallots on top before serving.
