Tumis Tahu Buncis: Stir-Fried Tofu and Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 5 pieces of white tofu, cut into cubes
  • 200 grams of green beans, cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 50 ml of water
  • 5 cloves of red onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 6 small chili peppers, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • Sugar and salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Begin by washing the tofu cubes thoroughly. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the tofu until golden brown and crispy. Once cooked, remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.

  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté the sliced red onion, garlic, and chopped chili peppers until they become fragrant and slightly softened.

  3. Cook the Green Beans: Add the green beans to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until they are halfway cooked.

  4. Combine and Season: Return the fried tofu to the pan. Pour in the water and sweet soy sauce. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Adjust the seasoning with sugar and salt to taste.

  5. Finish Cooking: Continue to cook until the green beans are tender and the tofu is well coated with the sauce.

  6. Serve: Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Enjoy your Tumis Tahu Buncis hot with steamed rice.

This flavorful dish combines crispy tofu with tender green beans, all coated in a savory-sweet sauce that’s sure to be a hit at your next meal.
