Ingredients:

Ingredients Quantity
Fat-free cream cheese 1 package (8 oz)
Skim milk 2 tablespoons
Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
White wine 1 tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon
Cayenne pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Tabasco sauce 1/2 teaspoon
Artichoke hearts 1 can (14 oz)
Green onions 2, chopped
Lump crab meat 1 can (6 oz)
Bread loaf 1
Garlic salt 1 teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

  2. Prepare Bread Shell: Coat a baking tray with cooking spray. Cut the top off the bread loaf and set it aside. Carefully hollow out the inside of the loaf, leaving about a 1-inch shell. Cut the removed bread into cubes and place them on the prepared tray. Bake the cubes at 350Β°F for about 10 minutes, or until they are nicely browned.

  3. Prepare Dip Mixture: In a mixing bowl, cream together the fat-free cream cheese, skim milk, lemon juice, white wine, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, Tabasco sauce, and garlic salt until smooth.

  4. Add Crab and Artichokes: Stir in the lump crab meat, drained and chopped artichoke hearts, and chopped green onions until well combined.

  5. Fill Bread Shell: Spoon the creamy crab and artichoke mixture into the hollowed-out bread shell. Replace the top of the bread loaf and wrap the entire loaf tightly with aluminum foil.

  6. Bake: Place the wrapped bread loaf on an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350Β°F for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly.

  7. Serve: Unwrap the bread loaf and serve the hot and creamy crab and artichoke dip with the toasted bread cubes and your choice of crackers.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, you can sprinkle some shredded low-fat cheese on top of the dip before baking.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of cayenne pepper and Tabasco sauce according to your taste preferences. If you like it spicy, add more; if you prefer it milder, reduce the amount.
  • This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking. Simply follow the instructions up to step 5, then refrigerate until ready to bake. Allow the dip to come to room temperature before baking as directed.
