Yield: 12 muffins

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
2 cups Unbleached all-purpose flour
1/4 cup Sugar
2 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Baking soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
1/2 cup Honey
1/2 cup Milk
1/3 cup Unsalted butter
1 Egg

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg. Stir until all ingredients are evenly mixed.

  2. Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the honey, milk, melted butter, and egg until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  3. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the liquid ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients. Gently fold the mixture together until just moistened. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the muffins dense.

  4. Prepare Muffin Tins: Lightly grease 12 muffin tins with butter or non-stick spray.

  5. Fill the Muffin Tins: Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared muffin tins, filling each about 2/3 full.

  6. Bake: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

  7. Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the muffin tin from the oven and allow the muffins to cool in the pan on a wire rack for a few minutes. Then, carefully remove the muffins from the tin and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

These Honey Muffins are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but they can also be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days. Serve them alongside your favorite hot beverage for a delightful morning treat, or pack them for a midday snack on the go. Enjoy the sweet simplicity of homemade goodness with every bite! 🍯🧁
