  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 2/3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 packet (1 1/2 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Step Description
1 Heat milk, water, butter, and honey in a saucepan until the mixture reaches 120Β°F (48Β°C).
2 In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, eggs, active dry yeast, salt, and the warmed milk mixture.
3 Mix at low speed just until moistened, then increase to medium-high speed and beat for 1 minute until well combined.
4 Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the batter for several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally to ensure proper fermentation.
5 Preheat your waffle maker and set the oven temperature to “warm” to keep the cooked waffles warm while you make the rest.
6 Pour about 1/2 cup (125ml) of batter onto the preheated waffle maker’s grids.
7 Close the waffle maker gently and bake until steam no longer escapes, which usually takes about 3-4 minutes.
8 Carefully remove the waffle from the maker using a fork and place it on a baking sheet in the oven to keep it warm while you cook the remaining waffles.
9 Serve the warm whole-wheat waffles with your favorite toppings, such as fresh fruit, maple syrup, or whipped cream, and enjoy a nutritious breakfast!

Note: These whole-wheat waffles are not only delicious but also packed with fiber and protein to keep you feeling satisfied throughout the morning.
