Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
16 – 24 Large shrimp
6 Extra virgin olive oil
1 Garlic
1 Sweet paprika
1 Hot paprika
Salt
Lemon wedge

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Shrimp:

    • Remove the shell from the center of the shrimp, keeping the head and tail intact.
    • Devein the shrimp.
  2. Marinate:

    • In a shallow dish large enough to hold the shrimp in a single layer, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, sweet paprika, hot paprika, and salt.
    • Stir until well combined, then add the shrimp, turning them until fully coated.
    • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Grill:

    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
    • Once the shrimp have marinated, remove them from the fridge and thread them onto skewers if desired for easier grilling.
    • Grill the shrimp for about 1 minute on each side, or until they start to curl and the shells turn pink.
    • Flip them over and continue to grill for an additional minute, or until they are cooked through.
  4. Serve:

    • Remove the shrimp from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter.
    • Serve immediately, garnished with lemon wedges for squeezing over the shrimp.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of chopped fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro before serving.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can also cook these shrimp in a grill pan or under the broiler in your oven.
  • Adjust the amount of hot paprika to suit your spice preference. You can also omit it entirely if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • Serve these paprika shrimp as an appetizer, side dish, or as part of a seafood brunch spread.
  • Make sure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them juicy and tender. They cook quickly, so keep an eye on them while grilling.
