Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef steak, thinly sliced
  • 1-2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup cooking sherry
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions:

Step Description
1 Closely trim steak and slice into thin slices.
2 Pepper meat, then brown in butter in skillet.
3 When meat is browned, add sherry and stock or bouillon, bring to a boil and immediately reduce to simmer.
4 Add mushrooms and cook until mushrooms are done, but not shriveled.
5 Dissolve cornstarch in hot water and add to broth, stirring until broth thickens slightly.
6 To serve, place separate bowls of noodles, meat and sauce, sour cream, and slivered almonds on the table (you can garnish sour cream with chopped parsley if desired).
7 To eat, layer first noodles, then beef, then sour cream and sprinkle with almonds.
