Ingredients:

6 Green bell pepper
1 Onion
1/2 Garlic clove
1 Pinch of salt
1 Pinch of ground black pepper
1/4 Cup olive oil
1/4 Cup butter
1 Packet of Ramen noodles
1/2 Cup Spam

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Roasted Bell Pepper:

    • Impale the whole green bell pepper on a long-handled fork, ensuring the tangs protrude from the other side.
    • Hold the pepper over an open flame until the flesh blisters and starts to turn black.
    • Place the pepper into a paper bag and seal it for 15 minutes.
    • Remove the pepper from the bag and rub the loosened skin until it comes off.
    • Discard the stem and seeds, then cut the peeled bell pepper into small pieces.
    • Add a pinch of salt and ground black pepper to the pepper pieces, and set aside.
  2. Cook the Ramen:

    • Bring two cups of water to a boil in a pot.
    • Meanwhile, melt the butter in the olive oil in a medium-sized frying pan.
    • Sauté the onions in the pan until they are nearly transparent.
  3. Prepare the Ramen with Onion and Roasted Pepper:

    • Break up the Ramen noodles and add them to the boiling water, excluding the seasoning package.
    • The seasoning can be reserved for another recipe, such as Salvage Rice.
    • Add the Spam, roasted bell pepper pieces, and minced garlic to the frying pan with the onions.
    • Stir the ingredients in the pan for about 3 minutes to allow the noodles to cook.
    • Pour 1/2 cup of the water from the cooked noodles into the frying pan.
    • Drain the cooked noodles and add them to the frying pan with the other ingredients.
    • Remove the frying pan from the heat and set it aside for another minute to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Serve:

    • Plate the Ramen with Onion and Roasted Pepper alongside a fresh side salad or seasonal fruit.
