  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)

Instructions:

  1. Preparation:

    • Note: If you have a bread machine with a manual setting, you can save time by using it for the initial mixing and rising stages.
    • Ensure the bread machine is set to stop after the mixing and first rising, without proceeding to the baking cycle.
  2. Mixing the Dough:

    • In an electric mixer, combine 3 1/2 cups of flour, yeast, and salt, ensuring they are well blended.
  3. Preparing the Eggs:

    • Separate one egg, setting aside the white for later use.
    • Reserve the yolk and remaining whole egg for the dough mixture.
  4. Combining Ingredients:

    • Add the egg yolk, remaining whole egg, hot water, honey, and oil to the flour mixture in the electric mixer.
  5. Mixing and Kneading:

    • Mix the ingredients vigorously until well combined.
    • Attach the dough hook to the mixer and knead the dough for approximately 6 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
    • If the dough is sticky, gradually add more flour until it reaches the desired consistency.
    • Alternatively, knead the dough by hand on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
  6. First Rising:

    • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, ensuring the top is also lightly greased.
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a damp towel to prevent the dough from drying out.
    • Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for approximately 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  7. Shaping the Rolls:

    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and let it rest for 5 minutes.
    • Divide the dough into 16 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
  8. Arranging the Rolls:

    • Grease a 9-inch layer cake pan.
