Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
1200g All-purpose flour
2 Honey
1/2 cup Caster sugar
1 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Baking powder
1 cup Fine semolina
1/2 cup Walnuts
2 tsp Ground cinnamon
1 Orange rind
1 Clove
1 cup Olive oil
2 cups Water
1 cup Sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugar, olive oil, and honey. Beat until well incorporated.
  3. Add clove, cinnamon, and orange rind to the bowl, and mix with other ingredients.
  4. Dilute baking powder and baking soda with fruit juice, then incorporate into the mixture along with walnuts and semolina. Beat continuously.
  5. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough.
  6. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rest for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Divide the dough into pieces, shaping them into oblong rounds resembling small eggs. Place them on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  8. Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool on a wire rack.
  10. Meanwhile, prepare the syrup by blending water, honey, and sugar in a saucepan. Boil for about 10 minutes.
  11. Reduce the heat and dip the biscuits in the syrup for approximately a minute, then remove with a perforated spoon and place on a serving plate.
  12. Before serving, sprinkle the biscuits with walnuts and ground cinnamon for an extra burst of flavor.

These Honey Biscuits are best enjoyed with a hot cup of tea or coffee, or as a sweet treat during festive gatherings. Their delightful aroma and rich flavor will surely make them a favorite in your home as well!
