Ingredients:

  • 2-3 lbs roast
  • 1 packet Brown Gravy Mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp beef bouillon granules
  • 1/4 tsp celery seed
  • 1 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/8 lbs yellow potatoes
  • 8-10 oz mushroom soup

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Roasting Pan: Place the washed roast in the bottom of a roasting pan.

  2. Season with Gravy Mix: Sprinkle the Brown Gravy Mix evenly over the roast.

  3. Add Water: Pour the water over the gravy mix.

  4. Season with Bouillon and Spices: Sprinkle the beef bouillon granules, celery seed, sugar, and onion powder over the roast.

  5. Cover with Soup: Spoon the mushroom soup over the roast, covering it entirely.

  6. Arrange Potatoes: Place the yellow potatoes or other veggies around the outer edges of the roast, but not on top of it.

  7. Cover and Cook: Cover the roasting pan tightly with foil (as most lids do not have good seals, use foil) and cook at 325°F (163°C) for 3 hours, or until the meat is fully cooked and the veggies are tender.

  8. Check Gravy Consistency: Once cooked, check the consistency of the gravy. If it’s too thick, add a bit of water, but there’s no need to add flour or corn starch.

  9. Serve: Serve the pot roast hot, accompanied by your favorite sides such as biscuits and salad.

Enjoy this hearty and satisfying meal that’s perfect for feeding a hungry family after a morning at church. The tender meat, flavorful gravy, and perfectly cooked veggies will leave everyone feeling satisfied and ready for a cozy afternoon nap!
