Ingredients:

  2. Coat the Tofu:

    • Cut the block of tofu into bite-sized cubes or rectangles.
    • One at a time, gently coat each piece of tofu with the seasoning mixture. Ensure that the tofu is evenly coated on all sides.
  3. Marinate the Tofu:

    • Once all the tofu pieces are coated, let them marinate in the seasoning mixture for at least 1 hour. This allows the flavors to penetrate the tofu, enhancing its taste.
  4. Heat the Oil:

    • In a wok or deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it starts to smoke slightly. This indicates that the oil is hot enough for frying.
  5. Fry the Tofu:

    • Carefully add the seasoned tofu pieces to the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches if necessary.
    • Fry the tofu for approximately 5 minutes, or until it turns golden brown and becomes puffy.
    • Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried tofu from the oil, allowing any excess oil to drip off.
  6. Serve:

    • Transfer the deep-fried tofu to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
    • Garnish with thinly sliced green onions for added freshness and flavor.
    • Serve the deep-fried tofu immediately while it’s still hot and crispy.
