Quick Italian Ground Beef Dinner

A wonderful-tasting dish, and easy to make dish. (Note: Although the noodles from the packaged mix could be added to the mixture without pre-boiling, I find that they remain hard. It is better to cook them separately, then just add to mixture before serving.)

Ingredients:

1 Lean ground beef
1 Garlic
2 – 3 Onion
1 Parmesan cheese
1/4 Hot water
3 Mozzarella cheese
1 – 2 Chopped tomato
3/4 Green bell pepper
1/2 Dried oregano

Recipe Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, brown the beef with onion and garlic, until beef is no longer pink; drain off any fat. Mix in the Parmesan cheese into the beef mixture.
  2. Stir in ingredients of the Hamburger Helper (do not add the noodles, they are to be boiled separately), water, mozzarella cheese, tomato, bell pepper, and oregano.
  3. Heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally, adding more water to obtain a desired thickness; simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, boil the noodles from the Hamburger Helper package until firm-tender.
  5. Add the cooked hamburger mixture; mix well.
  6. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

Recipe Notes:

  • For best results, cook the noodles separately to ensure they are cooked to perfection and not hard.
  • Feel free to adjust the thickness of the dish by adding more or less water according to your preference.
  • This dish pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
