Ingredients:

Sugar 1/2 cup
Fast rising yeast 1 packet

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, sugar, undissolved yeast, and salt.
  2. Heat water, milk, and butter until very warm (120 to 130 degrees F).

  5. Stir in the remaining flour to make a stiff batter.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  7. Arrange apple slices evenly over the batter.
  8. For the topping: Combine all ingredients; mix until crumbly.
  9. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
  10. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  11. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  12. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until done.
  13. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes.
  14. Remove the cake from the pan and cool it on a wire rack.
