Recipe Instructions:

  1. Begin by preparing your ingredients. Slice the andouille sausage into 1/2-inch pieces, and similarly cut the boneless skinless chicken breast halves into 1/2-inch pieces as well.

  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the sliced sausage and cook for approximately 3 minutes or until the sausage is nicely browned.

  3. Next, add the sliced chicken breast pieces to the Dutch oven. Stir constantly and cook for about 3 minutes or until the chicken is browned.

  4. Now, incorporate the cooked ham into the mixture, ensuring it is evenly distributed. Cook until the ham is thoroughly heated.

  5. At this point, remove the meat mixture from the Dutch oven, but remember to reserve 1 tablespoon of drippings in the pot.

  6. Return the meat mixture to the Dutch oven, and stir in the Cajun seasoning along with the next 5 ingredients. Allow the flavors to meld together as you cook for approximately 5 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking or burning.

  7. After 5 minutes, pour in the chicken broth and add the remaining ingredients, including the Worcestershire sauce, cooked rice, and chopped green onion. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, for an additional 2 minutes or until the dish is thoroughly heated and all the ingredients are well combined.

  8. Once heated through, your Smoky Cajun Jambalaya is ready to serve! Garnish with extra green onions if desired, and enjoy this flavorful dish that captures the essence of Louisiana cuisine.
