Simple Sweet and Sour Tuna Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 grams tuna fish
  • 1 egg
  • 150 grams all-purpose flour
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 150 ml tomato sauce
  • ½ tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • Sugar, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tuna: Begin by thoroughly washing the tuna fish, then slice it into thin cubes. Season the fish with salt and pepper, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

  2. Set Up Your Breading Stations: Prepare two bowls. In one bowl, crack the egg and add a pinch of salt and pepper, whisking it until well combined. In the second bowl, place the all-purpose flour, adding salt and pepper to taste, and mix well.

  3. Coat the Tuna: Take each piece of seasoned tuna and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Next, roll the tuna in the flour, followed by a second dip in the egg and another layer of flour. This double coating will give the tuna a crispy texture when fried.

  4. Fry the Tuna: Heat a pan over low heat and add enough oil for frying. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated tuna pieces. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally. Repeat this process until all the tuna is cooked.

  5. Sauté the Aromatics: While the tuna is frying, slice the onion and mince the garlic. In a separate pan, melt the margarine over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until they become fragrant and soft.

  6. Make the Sauce: To the sautéed onions and garlic, add the oyster sauce and tomato sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar to taste. Allow the mixture to simmer gently, letting the flavors meld together.

  7. Combine and Serve: Once the sauce is ready, gently add the fried tuna to the pan, tossing everything together until the tuna is well coated in the sauce. Remove from heat.

Your Simple Sweet and Sour Tuna is now ready to be served! Enjoy this delightful dish alongside steamed rice or fresh vegetables for a complete meal that will tantalize your taste buds.
