Ingredients
For the Pizza Crust:
- 150 ml warm water
- 5 grams yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 250 grams all-purpose flour (Cakra brand)
- 2.5 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Topping:
- 150 grams cooked tomatoes (peeled and blended until smooth)
- 4 tablespoons tomato sauce
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 onion (cut in half; slice one half into rings and chop the other half)
- Thinly sliced green onions
- 1 tablespoon oil for sautéing
- 100 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
- Mayonnaise (to taste)
- 1 small can of tuna (drained)
- 5 sausages (sliced)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
-
In a small bowl, take 50 ml of warm water and add the yeast. Cover the glass and let it sit until the mixture is frothy, indicating that the yeast is ready to use.
-
Create a well in the center of the flour, then pour in the yeast mixture, sugar, and an additional 100 ml of warm water. Knead the mixture until smooth and elastic.
-
Add the vegetable oil and salt, then continue to knead until the dough becomes stretchy and well combined.
-
Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Step 2: Make the Tomato Sauce
-
In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
-
Stir in the blended tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, sugar, and pepper. Cook until the sauce thickens and the liquid reduces slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
-
Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down and knead for a moment. Divide the dough into two equal portions.
-
Prepare two 24 cm pizza pans. Place one portion of dough in the center of a pan and stretch it out to fit the shape of the pan. For the second portion, shape the edges slightly thicker for a crust.
-
Brush the edges with a thin layer of oil and spread a layer of the prepared tomato sauce over the base. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella on top.
-
Layer with the sliced sausages, drained tuna, chopped onions, and drizzle with mayonnaise. Finish with a sprinkle of green onions and the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Step 4: Baking
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Bake the pizza in the center of the oven for about 15-20 minutes, rotating halfway through to ensure even cooking. After the first 10 minutes, move the pizza to the top rack for the last 10 minutes to achieve a beautifully browned top.
Step 5: Serve
- Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy the delightful combination of flavors!
This Tuna Mayo Pizza is not only easy to make but also a wonderful way to bring everyone together around the dining table. Perfect for any occasion, it can be customized with your favorite toppings to suit your family’s tastes. Enjoy!
