Ingredients:

  • 10 pieces of boiled gembung (a type of fish)
  • Spice Blend:
    • 1/4 green chili
    • 10 bird’s eye chilies (rawit)
    • 2 large red chilies
    • 6 shallots
    • 5 garlic cloves
    • 1/2 thumb-sized piece of ginger, crushed
    • 1 green tomato (if available)
    • Sugar and salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Fry the Gembung:
    Heat oil in a pan and fry the gembung pieces until golden and crispy. Set aside.

    Finely chop all the spices: green chili, bird’s eye chilies, red chilies, shallots, and garlic. Slice the green tomato if using.
