Chicken Saus Teriyaki

Experience the delightful fusion of crispy chicken and rich, savory teriyaki sauce with this Chicken Saus Teriyaki recipe. Perfect for a comforting meal, this dish combines tender chicken fillets with a delectable sauce and sautéed vegetables, creating a symphony of flavors in every bite. Here’s how to make this irresistible dish from scratch:

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 1/2 kg chicken breast fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • All-purpose flour or a versatile seasoned flour mix (for coating)

For the Sauce and Vegetables:

  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1 potato, thinly sliced
  • Teriyaki sauce, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved in a small amount of water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Set up a breading station with two bowls: one with a wet batter (if using) and one with the seasoned flour or all-purpose flour.
    • Dip the chicken fillet pieces into the wet batter, then coat them thoroughly with the flour mixture.
    • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy. Remove and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  2. Make the Teriyaki Sauce and Vegetables:

    • In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and sauté the sliced garlic and onion until they are fragrant and translucent.
    • Add the sliced carrot and potato to the pan. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
    • Pour in the teriyaki sauce, and season with salt, pepper, and sugar to taste. Add a splash of water if necessary to adjust the consistency of the sauce.
    • Cook the mixture until the vegetables are tender and the flavors meld together.
  3. Thicken the Sauce:

    • Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for an additional minute or until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  4. Assemble the Dish:

    • Arrange the fried chicken pieces on a serving plate.
    • Spoon the teriyaki sauce and vegetable mixture over the chicken, ensuring an even distribution of sauce and vegetables.

Serve your Chicken Saus Teriyaki hot, accompanied by steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal. Enjoy the delightful blend of textures and flavors that make this dish a standout favorite!
