Beef Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 box lasagna sheets
  • 200 grams ground beef
  • 6 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Butter, for sautéing
  • Water, as needed
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Oregano, to taste
  • 200 ml milk
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Sauce:
In a large skillet, melt a generous amount of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion to the skillet, and sauté until fragrant and translucent.

  2. Cook the Vegetables and Meat:
Add the diced tomato to the skillet and cook until the tomatoes soften. Then, add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until the beef is browned and no longer pink.

  3. Simmer the Sauce:
Pour in a sufficient amount of water and stir in the tomato sauce. Let the mixture simmer until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano to taste. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.

  4. Prepare the Bechamel Sauce:
In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for a minute to form a roux. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens. Stir in the grated cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

  5. Cook the Lasagna Sheets:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the lasagna sheets one at a time according to package instructions, until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  6. Assemble the Lasagna:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, start by spreading a layer of the beef sauce at the bottom. Follow with a layer of the bechamel sauce, then a layer of lasagna sheets. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of bechamel sauce.

  7. Top with Cheese:
Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese on top and add a pinch of oregano.

  8. Bake:
Place the lasagna in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  9. Serve:
Allow the lasagna to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your warm, homemade beef lasagna!

This beef lasagna is perfect for family dinners and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. The layers of rich beef sauce and creamy bechamel, topped with gooey mozzarella, create a comforting and satisfying meal.
