Beef Bulgogi

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of tenderloin
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, for sautéing

Marinade Ingredients:

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 cm ginger, finely minced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced crosswise
  • 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sweet soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Salt, to taste
  • Sugar, to taste

Garnish:

  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:

    • Slice the tenderloin thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness.
  2. Marinate the Beef:

    • In a bowl, combine garlic, ginger, sliced onion, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, black pepper, honey, salt, and sugar.
    • Add the sliced tenderloin to the marinade and mix thoroughly to ensure all pieces are well-coated.
    • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for best results.
  3. Cook the Beef:

    • Heat margarine in a pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add the marinated beef slices to the pan, ensuring they are spread out evenly.
    • Sauté the beef until it is cooked through and the flavors have melded together, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Add the bell pepper cubes towards the end of cooking, allowing them to soften slightly but remain crisp.
  4. Finish and Serve:

    • Taste the beef and adjust seasoning if necessary.
    • Transfer the beef and bell pepper to a serving dish.
    • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced scallions.
