Practical Chicken Dendeng
Ingredients:
- 1/4 chicken breast
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1 sachet chicken-flavored Royco seasoning
- 4 tablespoons tapioca starch
- Oil for frying
For the Spice Paste:
- 4 shallots
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 cm piece of turmeric
- 1 cm piece of ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 kaffir lime leaf
Instructions:
-
Begin by washing the chicken breast thoroughly. Slice it thinly, or chop it if you prefer smaller pieces.
-
Prepare the spice paste by finely grinding the shallots, garlic, turmeric, ginger, ground coriander, and kaffir lime leaf until smooth. Transfer the paste to a separate bowl.
-
Add the thinly sliced chicken to the bowl with the spice paste. Mix well, ensuring the chicken is evenly coated with the spices.
-
Next, incorporate the tapioca starch and grated coconut into the chicken mixture. Sprinkle in the chicken-flavored Royco seasoning. Mix everything together until well combined.
-
Adjust the seasoning to taste. Shape the mixture into your desired form, such as patties or thin strips.
-
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy, making sure to avoid burning the coconut.
-
Continue frying until all the chicken is cooked and crispy.
-
Remove the cooked chicken from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
-
Serve the chicken dendeng warm and enjoy!
