Ingredients

For the Beef Patties:

  • 15 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 3 eggs
  • Spices to be Ground:

    • 1.5 tsp ground black pepper
    • ½ nutmeg, grated
    • Salt to taste

For the Sauce:

  • 2 galangal slices
  • 2 lemongrass stalks
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 liter coconut milk (from 1 coconut)
  • 3 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • Salt to taste

    • ½ tsp ground black pepper
    • ½ nutmeg, grated

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Patties:

    • Drain the ground beef in a sieve to remove excess blood. Rinse with water and set aside.
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, sliced shallots, beaten eggs, and the ground spices. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
