Beef Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
- 250 grams beef, cut into pieces
- 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 5 green beans, trimmed and cut
- 5 cabbage leaves, chopped
- 1 stalk green onion, sliced
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- Spices and Seasonings:
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon seasoning powder
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
Instructions:

Prepare the Ingredients:
- Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces. Peel and cube the potatoes, slice the carrots, trim and cut the green beans, and chop the cabbage leaves. Slice the green onion and chop the celery.

Marinate the Beef:
- In a bowl, marinate the beef pieces with a squeeze of lime juice, salt, and ground black pepper. Let it sit for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cook the Beef:
- In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the marinated beef. Cook for 30 minutes, skimming off any impurities that rise to the surface.

Prepare the Soup Base:
- In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add the potatoes and carrots, cooking until they begin to soften. Then, add the cooked beef along with its broth.

Add Spices and Seasonings:
- In a mortar and pestle, grind the black peppercorns, garlic, and nutmeg until fine. Add this mixture to the soup pot, along with the star anise, cinnamon stick, cloves, seasoning powder, salt, and sugar.

Add Vegetables:
- Stir in the green beans and cabbage. Allow the soup to simmer until all the vegetables are tender and the flavors meld together. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Finish and Serve:
- Turn off the heat and stir in the sliced green onion, chopped celery, and fried shallots. Serve the soup hot and enjoy!
