Beef Teriyaki Recipe

This delightful Beef Teriyaki combines tender slices of beef with vibrant vegetables in a savory sauce, making it a perfect dish for any meal. Follow this recipe to create a delicious and flavorful teriyaki beef stir-fry that’s sure to impress your family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams (1/2 kg) beef (sliced thinly into strips)
  • 3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 green bell pepper (sliced thinly; alternatively, use green chili for extra heat)
  • 1 red bell pepper (optional, can be omitted)
  • 5 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 500 ml water
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • 1 onion (sliced as desired)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:

    • Slice the beef thinly and rinse it thoroughly. Marinate the beef with the oyster sauce, ensuring the slices are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables:

    • Finely chop the garlic. Slice the green bell pepper and red bell pepper (if using) into thin strips. Slice the onion according to your preference.
  3. Stir-Fry the Aromatics:

    • Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil. Sauté the chopped garlic, sliced bell peppers, and onion until fragrant and slightly softened.
  4. Cook the Beef:

    • Add the marinated beef to the pan. Stir-fry until the beef is no longer pink and starts to turn white. Add the water and reduce the heat. Simmer until most of the water has evaporated and the beef is cooked through.
  5. Add the Sauces:

    • Stir in the tomato sauce, chili sauce, and sweet soy sauce. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens and coats the beef nicely.
  6. Finish the Dish:

    • For added freshness, you can stir in additional sliced bell peppers and onions at the end of cooking. This will give the dish a vibrant and crisp texture.
  7. Season to Taste:

    • Adjust the seasoning with salt and sugar to suit your taste preferences.
  8. Serve:

    • Serve the Beef Teriyaki hot over steamed rice or alongside your favorite side dishes.

Notes:

  • Including bell peppers and onions at the end of cooking ensures they remain crisp and colorful.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of chili sauce to control the spiciness of the dish.

This Beef Teriyaki recipe is a wonderful addition to your cooking repertoire, offering a tasty and satisfying meal that’s both easy to prepare and full of flavor. Enjoy your culinary creation!
