Simple Black Pepper Beef
Ingredients:
- 300 grams thinly sliced beef
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 bunch green onions, sliced diagonally
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- Margarine, butter, or cooking oil for sautéing
Marinade Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of sugar
- A pinch of seasoning powder
- 1 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon cooking oil
Instructions:
-
Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine all the marinade ingredients—oyster sauce, salt, sugar, seasoning powder, black pepper, and cooking oil. Add the sliced beef to the bowl and mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
-
Prepare the Vegetables: Slice the onion according to your preference; for a more pronounced flavor, cut it into larger pieces. Slice the green onions diagonally.
-
Cook the Beef: Heat a skillet over high heat and add about 1 tablespoon of margarine or cooking oil. Once hot, add the marinated beef to the skillet. Sauté until fragrant and cooked through, then remove from the pan and set aside.
-
Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, add a little more margarine or oil if needed. Add the crushed garlic and cook until fragrant. Then, add the sliced onion and continue to sauté until the onions are softened and translucent.
-
Combine and Finish Cooking: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the onions. Add the sweet soy sauce and stir-fry over high heat to ensure the beef is heated through and well combined with the onions. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
-
Serve: Once everything is well-mixed and the flavors have melded together, remove from heat and serve immediately.
Enjoy this simple yet flavorful black pepper beef as a delightful main course!
