Beef Yakiniku Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams beef (thinly sliced)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)

Marinade:

  • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2-inch piece of ginger (finely grated, using a cheese grater)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced or grated with a cheese grater)

Additional Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with water to create a slurry)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:

    • Slice the beef thinly.
  2. Marinate the Beef:

    • In a covered container, combine the sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, ground black pepper, finely grated ginger, and minced garlic.
    • Add the sliced beef to the marinade mixture. Ensure that the beef is well-coated with the marinade.
    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for more flavor.
  3. Cook the Beef:

    • Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add the marinated beef to the hot pan, along with a small amount of water (just enough to help with cooking). Cook until the beef is tender.
  4. Add Vegetables:

    • Add the chopped onion and sliced bell pepper to the pan. Stir well and adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Thicken the Sauce:

    • Mix the cornstarch with a small amount of water to create a slurry.
    • Add the cornstarch mixture to the pan, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  6. Finish and Serve:

    • Garnish with toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Enjoy your flavorful Beef Yakiniku, a delicious and savory dish perfect for any meal!
