- 5 cloves garlic (minced)
- Tomato sauce
- Chili sauce
- Oyster sauce
- Sweet soy sauce
- Sugar
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Chicken Wings:
- Begin by thoroughly cleaning the chicken wings. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, combine the chicken wings with lime juice, garlic powder, oyster sauce, ground black pepper, ground nutmeg, ground coriander, and salt. Mix well to ensure the wings are evenly coated.
- Allow the wings to marinate for at least 30 minutes. For best results, let them marinate overnight in the refrigerator to absorb the flavors.
-
Prepare the Coating:
- In a separate bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, rice flour, baking powder, garlic powder, ground coriander, and mushroom seasoning.
- After marinating, coat each chicken wing with the flour mixture. For a crispier texture, dip the coated wings into ice-cold water, then coat them again with the flour mixture.
-
Fry the Chicken Wings:
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to medium-low heat.
- Fry the wings in batches, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook until they are golden brown and crispy, about 6-8 minutes per batch, depending on the size of the wings.
- Remove the wings from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
-
Prepare the BBQ Sauce:
- In a pan, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the BBQ sauce, tomato sauce, chili sauce, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, sugar, salt, and ground black pepper. Stir well to combine and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes to meld the flavors.
-
Combine and Serve:
- Toss the fried chicken wings in the BBQ sauce until they are well coated.
- Serve the BBQ chicken wings hot, accompanied by steamed rice for a complete meal.
Enjoy your homemade BBQ chicken wings! They are perfect for a family dinner or a gathering with friends. Happy cooking!
