Siomay Ayam with Carrots Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg chicken breast, finely minced
  • 2 small carrots, grated
  • Mushroom broth powder, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Wonton wrappers, ready-made
  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the finely minced chicken breast with the grated carrots. Season with mushroom broth powder, ground black pepper, and salt. Mix well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.

  2. Add Egg: Crack the egg into the bowl and mix thoroughly. The egg will help bind the ingredients together, ensuring a cohesive filling.

  3. Taste and Adjust: To check the seasoning, take a small portion of the mixture and pan-fry it. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

  4. Assemble the Siomay: Place a small spoonful of the chicken mixture onto the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold and seal the edges, creating a small dumpling shape.

  5. Steam: Arrange the filled wontons in a steamer basket, making sure they are not touching each other. Steam over boiling water for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the wontons are tender.

  6. Serve: Once steamed, remove the siomay from the steamer and serve hot with peanut sauce.
