Tongseng Daging Sapi: A Flavorful Indonesian Beef Stew
Ingredients:
- 1/4 kg beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
 - Carrots, thinly sliced (quantity as desired)
 - Tomatoes, cut into quarters (quantity as desired)
 - Green onions, sliced diagonally
 - Cabbage, cut into large chunks
 - 5 shallots
 - 3 cloves garlic
 - 3 curly chilies
 - 3 candlenuts
 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
 - 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
 - 1/2 inch ginger
 - 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
 - 1 teaspoon palm sugar
 - 2 stalks lemongrass, bruised
 - 250 ml coconut milk
 - 1 small glass water
 
Instructions:

Prepare the Spice Paste: Begin by blending the shallots, garlic, curly chilies, candlenuts, ginger, coriander seeds, and turmeric powder into a smooth paste.

Cook the Spice Paste: Heat a little oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the spice paste and sauté until fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.

Simmer the Beef: Add the beef pieces to the pot and cook until browned on all sides. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer until the beef becomes tender.

Add the Coconut Milk: Once the beef is tender, stir in the coconut milk and lemongrass. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
