						- 1 kg boneless chicken, cut into small cubes
- Cooking oil
- Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 1/2 kg roasted peanuts, ground into a paste
- 3 candlenuts (kemiri), toasted
- 4 cloves garlic
- 5 shallots
- 4 large red chilies
- Sugar and salt to taste
Instructions:
- 
Prepare the Chicken: - Cut the boneless chicken into small, uniform cubes. Thread the pieces onto skewers, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
 
- 
Marinate the Chicken: - In a shallow dish, combine sweet soy sauce and cooking oil. Mix well.
- Coat the skewered chicken pieces thoroughly with the soy sauce and oil mixture.
 
- 
Grill the Chicken: - Preheat a grill or a grilling pan.
- Grill the chicken skewers over medium heat, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice charred exterior.
 
- 
Prepare the Peanut Sauce: - In a blender or food processor, combine the garlic, shallots, candlenuts, and red chilies. Blend into a smooth paste.
- Heat a pan over medium heat with a small amount of cooking oil. Add the paste and sauté until fragrant and lightly browned.
- Add the ground roasted peanuts to the pan and mix well. Pour in a little water to reach your desired sauce consistency. Stir frequently until the sauce thickens. Season with sugar and salt to taste.

Serve: - Serve the grilled chicken skewers with a generous drizzle of the peanut sauce.
- Garnish with additional sweet soy sauce if desired.

Make-Ahead Tips: - If you need to prepare the satay in advance, grill the chicken skewers until they are half-cooked. Store them in the refrigerator.
- When ready to serve, reheat the skewers on the grill until fully cooked.
