Roti Telur / French Toast Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of white bread
- 1 large egg
- 6 tablespoons full cream milk
- 1/5 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/5 teaspoon salt
- 1/5 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/5 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter for grilling

Prepare the Egg Mixture:
In a bowl or shallow dish, combine the egg, full cream milk, ground black pepper, salt, and if using, the ground cinnamon and dried oregano. Whisk the mixture until well combined and the egg is fully beaten. -
Soak the Bread:
Place the slices of white bread into the egg mixture. Allow the bread to soak in the mixture for a few moments, turning occasionally so that both sides are well coated. To ensure the egg mixture absorbs thoroughly, lightly prick the top surface of the bread with a fork while it is soaking. -
Grill the Bread:
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over low heat. Melt the butter in the pan. Once the butter is fully melted and slightly bubbly, place the soaked bread slices into the skillet. Cook the bread until golden brown and crispy on one side, then flip to the other side and cook until equally golden brown. -
Serve:
