Crispy Tahu Skewers Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams of firm tofu, cut into medium-sized cubes
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • Water, as needed for soaking
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon non-MSG chicken bouillon powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt, to taste
  • Bread crumbs, for coating
  • Cooking oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu:
    Begin by cleaning the tofu and cutting it into medium-sized cubes. Gently coat the tofu with the minced garlic and a pinch of salt. Allow it to marinate for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. Prepare the Coating Batter:
    In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, non-MSG chicken bouillon powder, salt, and enough water to create a medium-thick batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the tofu but not too runny.

  3. Coat the Tofu:
    Dip each tofu cube into the prepared batter, ensuring it is well-coated. Next, roll the battered tofu in bread crumbs until evenly coated. This will give the tofu a crispy texture when fried.

  4. Fry the Tofu:
    Heat oil in a frying pan over low to medium heat. Carefully place the coated tofu cubes into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the tofu until golden brown and crispy on all sides.

  5. Drain and Serve:
    Once the tofu is crispy and golden, remove it from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm as a delightful snack or appetizer.
