Ingredients:

  • 2 Chinese tofu blocks
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 large stalk of green onion
  • 4 cloves of red onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Aromatics:
Begin by finely grinding the red onions and garlic into a smooth paste. This will be the base of your flavor profile.

  2. Prepare the Tofu:
In a mixing bowl, crumble the Chinese tofu into small, manageable pieces. Set aside.

  3. Prepare the Vegetables:
Dice the carrots into small cubes and chop the green onion. Combine these vegetables with the crumbled tofu in the mixing bowl.

  4. Season the Mixture:
Add the ground onion and garlic paste, black pepper, and salt to the tofu and vegetable mixture. Stir well to ensure that all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  5. Add the Egg:
Crack the egg into the bowl and mix thoroughly until the egg is fully incorporated into the tofu and vegetable mixture.

  6. Steam the Mixture:
Pour the tofu mixture into a heatproof dish or a steaming tray. Place it in a steamer and steam for approximately 15 minutes, or until it is set and firm to the touch.

  7. Cool and Slice:
Once steamed, remove the dish from the steamer and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, cut the tofu into bite-sized pieces.

  8. Fry the Tofu:
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Carefully add the tofu pieces to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides.

  9. Serve:
Remove the fried tofu from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve warm as a delicious snack or appetizer.

Enjoy your homemade Tahu Goreng Isi Sayur, a delightful and crispy treat perfect for any occasion!
