Tumis Jagung Telur (Stir-Fried Corn with Egg)
Ingredients:
- 2 ears of sweet corn
- 1 large egg
- 2 shallots
- 1 clove of garlic
- 4 curly chilies
- 4 bird’s eye chilies (optional, for extra spiciness)
- Salt and MSG (optional, to taste)
- Cooking oil
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by finely chopping the shallots and garlic. Slice the sweet corn kernels off the cobs and set them aside. Thinly slice the curly chilies and, if using, the bird’s eye chilies as well.
-
Cook the Aromatics: Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the minced shallots and garlic. Sauté until they become fragrant and begin to brown lightly.
-
Add Corn and Egg: Incorporate the sliced corn kernels into the pan, stirring well to combine with the aromatics. Crack the egg directly into the pan without beating it, allowing it to cook alongside the corn. Gently stir the mixture to scramble the egg and mix it with the corn.
-
Season and Add Chilies: Add the sliced curly chilies and bird’s eye chilies (if using) to the pan. Season with salt and MSG to taste. Continue to stir and cook until the corn is tender and the egg is fully cooked.
-
Serve: Once everything is well-cooked and seasoned to your liking, transfer the stir-fried corn with egg to a serving dish. Serve hot as a delicious side dish or light main course.
Enjoy this flavorful and versatile dish that brings together the sweetness of corn with the richness of egg and the spice of chilies!
