Telur Ceplok Ciluk Baa (Peek-a-Boo Fried Egg)

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground pepper to taste
  • Dried parsley to taste
  • 1 chicken or beef sausage, cut into small pieces
  • 1 plate of liwet rice (Indonesian seasoned rice)

Steps:

  1. Heat a frying pan and add enough vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, turn off the heat temporarily.
  2. Carefully crack the egg into the pan, ensuring the yolk remains intact. Arrange the sausage pieces around the egg white, forming a ring around the yolk.
  3. Turn the heat back on to a very low setting. Season with ground pepper, dried parsley, and salt to taste. Cook on low heat until the egg is fully cooked through.
  4. Ensure the yolk is perfectly cooked.
  5. Serve alongside a plate of liwet rice.
