Tahu Aci Tegal Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 pieces white tofu, sliced diagonally
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons tapioca flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Salt, to taste
  • Hot water, as needed
  • Seasoning, to taste
  • Oil, for frying

For the Spice Paste:

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu:
    Begin by gently scraping out a small portion from the center of each tofu slice that has been cut diagonally. Set aside the scraped bits.

  2. Make the Filling:
    In a bowl, combine the scraped tofu pieces with the all-purpose flour, tapioca flour, sliced green onions, seasoning, salt, and spice paste. Mix well, adding a little hot water as needed to achieve a workable consistency.

  3. Stuff the Tofu:
    Fill each tofu slice with the prepared mixture.

  4. Coat and Fry:
    Dip each stuffed tofu slice into the beaten egg, ensuring it is well-coated. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the tofu slices until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

  5. Serve:
    Your Tahu Aci Tegal is ready to enjoy! Serve hot and savor the delicious flavor of this crispy Indonesian delicacy.
