Instructions:
-
Prepare the Kikil: Related Articles- Cut the kikil into small pieces. Boil in water briefly to remove any strong odors, then drain and set aside.

-
Prepare the Tofu: - Cut the tofu into small cubes. Fry the tofu in oil until it is half-cooked (golden but not crispy). Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels.

-
Prepare the Spice Mixture: - Slice the shallots and garlic. Chop the bird’s eye chilies and red curly chilies.

-
Sauté the Aromatics: - In a pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Sauté the shallots, garlic, bird’s eye chilies, and red curly chilies until fragrant.
- Add bay leaves, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and ginger to the pan. Continue to sauté for a few more minutes until the spices release their aroma.

-
Combine and Simmer: - Add the pre-cooked kikil and tofu to the pan. Stir to mix well with the spices.
- Season with salt, seasoning powder, Saori sauce, and sweet soy sauce. Add enough water to cover the ingredients.
- Stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer until the flavors meld and the liquid is mostly absorbed.

-
Final Touches: - Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Continue cooking until the liquid has almost evaporated and the kikil and tofu are well-coated with the sauce.

-
Serve: - Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Enjoy your Kikil Tahu Huhah with steamed rice or as a flavorful side dish.
