Prepare the Marinade: In a skillet, blend the garlic, shallots, turmeric, and coriander with a bit of water, salt, and seasoning powder to create a smooth paste. Soak the cubed tofu in this mixture for 10 minutes to infuse flavor.
-
Make the Dipping Batter: In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, seasoning powder, and a pinch of pepper. Mix well.
-
Coat the Tofu: Dip the marinated tofu into the flour mixture, then into the beaten egg, and return it to the flour mixture. Repeat this process until all the tofu pieces are coated.
-
Fry the Tofu: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, gently add the coated tofu pieces. Fry until golden brown, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.
-
Serve: Once crispy and golden, remove the tofu from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot as a delicious snack or appetizer!
