Stir-Fried Tauge with Tofu

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Bean sprouts (tauge) 1/4 ounce
Yellow tofu (tahu) 5 pieces
Shallots 4 pieces
Garlic 2 cloves
Tomato 1/2, chopped
Green onion 1 stalk, sliced
Red chili pepper 1, sliced
Bird’s eye chili 3, to taste
Salt To taste
Sugar To taste
Royco or Masako (optional) To taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Rinse the bean sprouts and tofu thoroughly.
  2. Cube and Fry Tofu: Cut the tofu into 8 cubes (adjust based on preference) and fry until lightly golden.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In a pan, sauté the shallots and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add Bean Sprouts: Incorporate the bean sprouts into the sauté, adding a splash of hot water (just enough to lightly steam).
  5. Combine Tofu and Seasoning: Add the fried tofu, sliced red chili, and bird’s eye chili. Stir well, seasoning with salt, sugar, and optional Royco or Masako.
  6. Finish with Fresh Ingredients: Finally, add the green onions and chopped tomato, mixing gently before serving.
