Instructions
- Prepare the Vermicelli: Soak the corn vermicelli in hot water until soft, then cut into small pieces.
- Mix the Base: In a large bowl, combine the mashed tofu, grated carrots, soaked vermicelli, salt, ground pepper, Masako, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly and taste for seasoning.
- Add Eggs: Incorporate the eggs into the mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Steam the Mixture: Prepare a steamer. Grease cake molds lightly, then fill them with the tofu mixture, pressing down gently to compact. Steam for about 15 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before removing from molds.
- Prepare the Batter: In a separate bowl, whisk together the batter ingredients until smooth.
- Fry the Tahu Fantasi: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip the steamed tofu cakes into the batter and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve and Enjoy: Drain on paper towels and serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions if desired.
