Sweet and Spicy Mujair Fish

Ingredients

1 large Mujair fish
1 medium Onion (sliced)
3 cloves Garlic (chopped)
3 Red bird’s eye chilies
4 tablespoons Chili sauce
2 tablespoons Ketchup
3 leaves Kaffir lime leaves
To taste Lime juice, salt, and pepper
To taste Sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Clean the mujair fish thoroughly, then marinate with lime juice, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for a moment while you prepare the sauce.

  2. Fry the Fish: Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated fish until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Sauce: In the same pan, coarsely grind the red bird’s eye chilies. Add the sliced onion and chopped garlic, sautéing until fragrant and translucent.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Add a small amount of water, then stir in about 4 tablespoons of chili sauce and 2 tablespoons of ketchup, adjusting to your taste preferences.

  5. Add Kaffir Lime: Toss in the kaffir lime leaves and allow the sauce to simmer until it thickens, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust sweetness with sugar if desired.

  6. Serve: Pour the sweet and spicy sauce over the fried fish, and it’s ready to serve. Enjoy your culinary creation!
